Mirinee Wool Quilts – an Overview

Let us introduce ourselves, we are Rod Knight & Jan Young, the proud owners and manufacturers of Mirinee Wool Quilts.
Our association with “Mirinee” began at the Australian National Field Days in Borenore in October 2001. Trading as Iris Growers of NSW we were located adjacent “Mirinee” Wool Quilts, then owned by Marion & Brian Chapman. We purchased an underlay from them and in true Gillette style; we liked the product so much we bought the company, although it took five years for this purchase to come to fruition.
Over the years we saw Brian and Marion on a regular basis around shows and field days. In April 2006 Brian informed me that Marion, approaching her 70th birthday, had decided to fully retire and sell the business. Rod & I became the proud owners of “Mirinee” Wool Quilts in September 2006. The business is now located at Raglan, Bathurst in Central Western NSW.
Prior to owning “Mirinee” Wool Quilts, I had been an accountant for more than thirty years. Rod had been a heavy vehicle operator, but in 1995 had suffered and spinal cord injury that had left him and incomplete paraplegic. We were both looking for a new direction in our working lives. Thru our association with selling Iris, We enjoyed the experience and interaction of meeting people at Field Days and shows, both customers and other stall holders.
We wanted a business where we had ownership of the product being sold, something we produced, something we believed in and something we could be passionate about. “Mirinee” Wool Quilts fulfils all of these requirements. We know we produce a wonderful product. This is borne out by the feed back we get from happy customers.
If you are attending one of the locations we will be at come and say hello and let us show you our wonderful product.
